Turned Leg Dough Box Coffee Table
We modeled this turned leg dough box coffee table on the classic dough box work tables of early America. In the kitchens of colonial America, bread dough was kneaded on the tops of these tables and then the top would be slid back and the dough left to rise inside the dough box. We added nicely turned legs to this table and joined them to the rails with pegged mortise and tenon joints, also we lowered the height to make it a coffee table. We painted this one in our rust color over barn red with medium distressing.
